400-Pound High School Football Player Tony Picard Bigger Than Any NFL Player

ABC News' Melissa Lustrin reports:

When opposing players see Tony Picard on the football field, they look at him like, "Do I really have to tackle this guy tonight," Picard's coach, Andy Bush, said.

That look is understandable considering that, at 6-foot-4 and 400 pounds, Picard, a running back on his high school football team, is larger than any player in the NFL.

"It takes multiple guys to tackle me down, four or five," Picard, 17, told " Good Morning America." "I kind of take advantage of being this size."

Picard is wowing football scouts as a senior player, and team co-captain, at White Swan High School, a small school on an Indian reservation in the Cascade Mountains in Washington state.

Picard was once told he was too big to play pee-wee football but that did not diminish his love for the sport.

"I started playing football in middle school," he said. "I've been in love ever since."

Picard not only uses his size on the football field, he also plays on the varsity basketball team.

Picard's size and stature also reflect the size of his heart, his family and teammates say.

"He's a very good kid," his mom, Carolyn Picard, told "GMA." "He's caring. He's just my big teddy bear."
