Attendant Fired for Middle Finger Pic

Attendant Fired for Middle Finger Pic (ABC News)

A Russian flight attendant who may have posted a photo of herself giving the middle finger to a plane full of passengers has been canned by her employer.

The photo, which made its way to Twitter after being posted on the Russian social networking site Vkontakte, has gone viral.

But the flight attendant, Tatiana Kozlenko, denied her presence in the photo, writing on the social site that the finger in question was not hers, nor did the plane belong to her employer, Russian airline Aeroflot. She wrote on her Vkontakte page, "I don't consider myself guilty! The photo was added to my page, I only tagged myself on it!!! The hand isn't mine, the plane is not my company's!!! I don't understand what they spoil my life for!!! I'm asking you for help and support!!"

But Aeroflot sees the situation a bit differently. On the airline's Twitter page, the company justified Kozlenko's firing in a series of tweets. The airline said that Kozlenko wrote a statement in which she admitted she was guilty and that she no longer works for Aeroflot. The airline called itself a "customer-oriented company."

If Kozlenko did in fact give the the finger, it wouldn't be the first time a flight attendant lost his or her cool on passengers. In 2012, American Eagle flight attendant Jose Serrano told passengers, "If anyone has the balls to want to get off, I'll let you get off! Get off!" he said, according to witnesses. "I don't care anymore. This is probably my last flight."

"I don't want to hear anything," Serrano told passengers over the plane's PA system. That flight had been repeatedly delayed by rain.

ABC News' attempts to reach Aeroflot for comment were not successful.
