Karl Lagerfeld Says Adele is "Too Fat"

What do you feel about this article?

As the head designer for Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld is one of the world's most influential figures in fashion - but he's definitely not a world leader when it comes to tact. Lagerfeld told the publication Metro that he is a fan of Adele, but isn't a fan of her appearance.

"The thing at the moment is Adele," says Lagerfeld. "She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice."

Ironically, Lagerfeld himself was once overweight - he lost close to 100 pounds in 13 months back in 2001 by following a special diet. Wonder how he would have felt if some world-famous designer had called him "too fat."

Who cares what Lagerfeld says or thinks. The average person does not buy or wear Chanel/Lagerfeld clothes. There are plenty of skinny pop stars who cannot sing. I would rather see a "fat" singer who really has a voice than a skinny "singer" who cannot sing. Besides since it is obvious that Adele is overweight why did Lagefeld feel the need to make the comment. Just to be mean.

This is the way everyone acts nowadays, no tact and no recourse for what they say.

Hello Karl, it is none of your #$%$ business how much Adele weighes, and it is rude of you to comment. As for the person who whines "what are we supposed to say she is fat", I don't recall ever being told people were required to comment on everyone's appearance. Those of us with good manners were taught to be tactful and considerate of others feelings. In short, what is so lacking in you and Karl that you feel you need to comment publically on someone else's body? Are you diverting attention away from your own shortcomings? Newsflash, fat people know they are fat and they don't need you to tell them. #$%$ off.

wow, great comment...my granny always said that if someone takes the time to make a negative remark about your appearance that person MUST be insecure in their own skin

What does it matter...I used to be extremely thin, however I also never much enjoyed food because I was obsessed the weight I would gain from eating certain foods, now I enjoy life and food I went up 2 sizes from a 7 to 11 and I have never been happier and I feel good. If you don't like the way I look then don't look! Karl you may have money but you have no class or tact! People that feel good about themselves do not need to knock others!!

You could have gained muscle instead of just getting fatter. then you feel even better than you do now.

Did you ever notice that people who have a lot of money often have very little class? Money doesn't make you polite, in fact, money makes a lot of people ugly-minded.

It's truly sad when there's nothing else to post than a nasty old man's comment about such a talented person. Still proves, no matter how good you are, I guess most people do judge the book by the cover, let's post nice things that are said, let's help military families in need, let's help the poor family in tragedy at this time by losing their daughter to a murdering husband, then he took their grandkids away from them, we need to focus on the positive, not the negative.

And? She is a beautiful sassy and soulful singer who is good at what she does. That he has the audacity to say anything given the fact that he was once hugely obese is a sad commentary on just how easily we forget.

The man giving the comment is not even vision worthy to the normal eye.How sad it is that when you overcome the battles of your past you are quick to judge and condemn someone in the same shoes.

I think she looks fine. Hopefully she doesn't care what some NIMROD thinks. I don't know why anyone wants to look like they are starving anyway. If some wants to be skinny fine if not leave them alone!

Her musical brilliance is not defined by her weight any more than your fabulous fashion sense is defined by your gayness, you old goat!

That this ridiculous and withered peacock, is deified by his beloved fashion industry, shows how worthless all of it is.

Yea, I am a fan of Mick Jagger, but he is not so good looking. In fact in his best days he was less good looking than Adele. Now let us all sit down and comment on all the great voices of our time and their appearances. What a waste of time..

Mr Lagerfeld, maybe someone should point out that you, as a gay man, have no idea what a beautiful woman should look like. You are obviously laboring under the misconception, that more than a very few people, actually live their lives based on the value of your opinion. In my opinion, you come of as just another #$%$ off, old, ridiculously dressed, gay man who can only feel important, when he is belittling someone else. Just another rich #$%$ who has no clue about what happens in the real world with real people.

I think Adele could care less what this 100 yr old thinks about her. Her fans love her just the way she is.
