Keira Knightley Engaged to Rocker James Righton
Keira Knightley is the latest Hollywood star set to say "I do."
The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star is engaged to marry her musician boyfriend, James Righton, 28, according to her publicist.
Knightley's publicist Sara Keene confirmed the engagement to ABC News on Friday.
The 27-year-old actress has reportedly been dating Righton, who is the keyboardist for the British indie band, Klaxons, since early last year. The pair was reportedly introduced by mutual friend, TV personality Alexa Chung.
The British actress made a name for herself in movies such as "The Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, "Atonement" and "Bend It Like Beckham," and received an Oscar nomination for her performance in "Pride & Prejudice" in 2006.
Before Righton, Knightley dated her "Pride & Prejudice" co-star, actor Rupert Friend, who she met on the set in 2005. The duo dated for five years but split in January 2011.
Knightley's publicist would not comment on any details about the proposal or wedding plans. The couple, who lives in London, has managed to keep their romance largely out of the spotlight, rarely attending public events together.
Both Knightley and Righton have seemed to balance work with their personal lives. Righton's band is reportedly working on their third album. Their debut album, Myths of the Near Future, won the Nationwide Mercury Prize in 2007. Knightley is slated to start filming her next movie stateside. In the flick, "Can a Song Save Your Life?" she plays a wannabe singer.
