Lady Gaga can sing, but can she cook? The Grammy winning singer's parents, Joe and Cynthia Germanotta, will open the doors to their new, family-style Italian restaurant in Manhattan's Upper West Side tonight.We all know
"Joanne's Trattoria" is named after Gaga's aunt, her father's late sister, whom the singer credits with inspiring her to become an artist. Joanne, a poet and painter, died of Lupus at the age of 19.
Showcasing family recipes from Lady Gaga, her grandmother and her father, the restaurant's menu has been created by chef Art Smith. Chef Smith was formerly the chef for Bob Graham and Jeb Bush before working for Oprah Winfrey in 2007. In addition to the Italian inspired recipes from Lady Gaga's family, the Germanottas, Smith's southern upbringing will also influence the menu.
Dishes like Wood Fired Focaccia, Zucchini Fritters, Tomato Fennel Soup, Chopped Antipasti Salad, Papa Joe's Chicken, Grandma Ronnie's Meatballs and Six Layer Lasagna will be on the menu. Entree prices will range from $25 to $30.
