The McDonald's Shamrock Shake Returns

What do you feel about this article?

Just like sightings of a St.Patrick's Day leprechaun, the elusive McDonald's Shamrock Shake has been seen in select restaurants.  Reports have recently surfaced that faithful shake followers have found it at restaurants around the country.

This mint and vanilla milkshake was originally served in 1970 and has continued to reappear weeks before St.Patrick's Day annually.

Disappointed fans have complained that the shake doesn't live up to its originally glory, because the new shake machines don't fully mix the minty syrup into the shake.  Another update is that the shake is served with whipped cream and a cherry on top.

The drink has a cult following, with the site ShamrockShake.com recording the locations where the drink has been spotted, as well as the date.  The site allows you to search by state to find a shake in your area.

I am not happy with their serving all of their shakes with so much whipped cream, just because they are being cheap. Also, their milk shakes are NOT mixed well enough anymore. The new machines suck.

DQ (Dairy Queen) is putting a whipped cream topping on their shakes too.
I don't like it at all.

BK too. It was really thick like cement and tasted even worse. My dad and I kept laughing about how bad it tasted. Also putting a cherry on the milkshake is dangerous. I always try to fish it out...not good to do while driving.

Ha-Ha-HA! My five year old finds these minty shakes a perfect chaser for his double shot of Jack Daniels, which he has after consuming FIFTEEN McDonald's double cheeseburgers, a 64 ounce regular Coca-Cola with no ice, AND super sized French fries dipped in a quart of melted cheddar cheese! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to leave. My five year old has an appointment to see his pediatric cardiologist.

Oh no,no,no,no!! This is offensive and a steretype of the Irish and Irish Americans!!!! Racist, racist, racist!!! I say it's racist on the same grounds as the fortune cookie Ice Cream by Ben & Jerry's.

I'm Irish/American and it doesn't offend me. A racist is someone who shows animosity towards a different race(nationality). St.Patrick's day is a "celebration of feasts". By selling green shakes near St. Patrick's day isn't McDonalds joining in on the celebration? The only thing that offends me is people who are "Irish for the day". I don't pretend to be a butterfly for a day, don't pretend to be Irish for the day.

My son brought one home last night and asked me to taste it. I thought it tasted medicinal. I don't think mixing in the syrup more would have helped it. My son was was really happy when he saw the Shamrock Shake ad on the window of McDonalds, but the next morning the shake was still sitting on the table unmixed and uneatened.

One of the unhealthiest things you can eat at McDonald's. A small has as much sugar as more than 4 Hershey bars. They are tasty but is it worth it?
