MTV Movie Awards 2012: 'Hunger Games,' 'Twilight,' and 'Bridesmaids' Take Home Top Awards

"The Hunger Games" ate up the competition at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night, collecting four golden popcorn trophies, the most of any film.

The blockbuster flick received the awards for best female and male performance for stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, respectively. It also earned the prizes for best fight and best on-screen transformation, the latter for Elizabeth Banks' role as Effie Trinket.

The Hunger Games entered the ceremony tied with Bridesmaids as the leading nominees, with eight nods apiece.

Jennifer Aniston picked up the brand-new on-screen dirtbag award for her performance in the comedy "Horrible Bosses."

Johnny Depp accepted the Generation Award for his career achievements, and also performed with the rock band The Black Keys. Emma Stone was presented with the inaugural Trailblazer Award.

The MTV Movie Awards were hosted by Russell Brand, who during his monologue referenced his ex-wife, pop star Katy Perry. Noting that he began his relationship with Perry after they met at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, which he also hosted, the British comedian said he was going to keep his "eyes peeled" for his next wife. He then yelled out the name of actor Michael Fassbender, whose nude appearance in Shame inspired numerous jokes by Brand.
