WATCH: Ostrich Causes Chaos on Saudi Arabian Street

Drivers in New York City who think they have it bad - navigating the busy, city streets with pedestrians and pigeons - may have to give up the driving-distraction crown to drivers in Saudi Arabia.

That is where a galloping ostrich brought traffic to a gridlock and nearly caused a few accidents when it ran loose through the busy streets of the town of Abha.  Video of the eye-catching episode was posted to YouTube by user DurrDeeDoo on April 30 and has gone viral.

The ostrich, said to be as tall as eight feet and weighing as much as 400 pounds, looks as confused as the drivers and bystanders to whom he has brought a halt in the two-minute online clip.

Ostriches cannot fly but are known as strong runners that can sprint at the speed of a car, up to 43 miles an hour, according to National Geographic.  The birds, native to Africa, also have legs strong enough to kill humans with their kick.

Witnesses told U.K.’s Daily Mail the randomly roaming bird may have escaped from a nearby farm.
