A Georgia woman said she is thankful to be alive after a 20-foot section of a 747 cargo plane's wing fell off before part of it came crashing into her home.
Pamela Ware was in her Clayton County, Ga., home Sunday afternoon when she heard a boom from above.
"I was like, 'Huh?'" Ware told local ABC affiliate WSB. "Actually, I hit the floor."
The boom Ware heard was a part of the wing of a China Airlines-operated Boeing 747 cargo plane flying to Atlanta from Anchorage, Alaska. As the plane approached Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, a piece of its right wing tore off, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing, according to WSB.
Part of the ripped debris landed on top of Ware's house, while another chunk of the plane's wing landed a few miles away, in the parking lot of a Walmart.
The plane's debris punctured two holes in Ware's roof before landing in her yard.
"If it had landed in here, because that is just Sheetrock, it would have … oh, boy,

By Abby Ellin | ABC News Blogs – 1 hour 9 minutes agoYou might think that a costly sunblock would be better at blocking UVA and UVB rays than a store brand at, say, Walgreens. However, according to Consumer Reports' annual sun survey, that's wrong.
In tests of 12 sunscreen lotions and sprays to gauge their effectiveness in protecting against UVA and UVB rays - both of which can cause skin cancer - six sunscreens rated "very good" overall.
Three of the four top-scoring brands came from national chains Target, whose Up and UP Sports SPF 50 had the highest overall score; Walmart, whose Equate Ultra Protection Sunscreen SPF 50 was No. 2; and Walgreens, whose Continuous Spray Sports SPF 50 was No. 4.

Coppertone Water Babies 50 lotion took third place.
Those brands, which guarded against UVB rays before and after 80 minutes underwater and were "very good" against UVA rays, all cost $1.67 or less per ounce.

By Susanna Kim | ABC News Blogs – 1 hour 20 minutes agoNew Jersey authorities are investigating 29 establishments for serving customers cheaper booze as a substitute for top-shelf liquor, including one that allegedly offered rubbing alcohol and food coloring as scotch.
"This alleged scheme is a dishonest ruse to increase profits, and it is a slap in the face to the consumer," said state Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa in a statement. "Consumers should have the peace of mind of knowing that they will get what they spent their hard-earned money on every single time - no exceptions."
A spokesman for the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control declined to which establishment served rubbing alcohol, saying it is an ongoing investigation.
Among the 29 licensed bars and restaurants cited for phony booze in the crackdown, dubbed "Operation Swill," are 13 TGI Fridays restaurants throughout New Jersey.
On Tuesday, investigators visited the establishments, inspected the bar areas and seized all opened bottles. About 1,000 bottles

By SUSAN DONALDSON JAMES | Good Morning America – 1 hour 21 minutes agoThe Boy Scouts of America today voted to lift its longtime national ban on admitting openly gay Scouts but will continue to exclude openly gay adults from leadership roles.
The vote by its 1,400 national membership came as no surprise to gay rights advocates, who hailed it as a first step to ending discriminatory practices in the 103-year-old organization.
The Boy Scouts said that it had completed its "most comprehensive listening exercise in Scouting's history" on the issue and will change its policy Jan. 1, 2014.
"The Boy Scouts of America will not sacrifice its mission, or the youth served by the movement, by allowing the organization to be consumed by a single, divisive and unresolved societal issue," it said in a statement.
"While people have different opinions about this policy, we can all agree that kids are better off when they are in Scouting," it said. "Going forward, our Scouting family will continue to focus on reaching and serving youth in order to help them grow into
