Two Brothers Face-off in the Big Game
Super Bowl 2013 is Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh as the two coaches face each other on sports' biggest stage. Jim Harbaugh, 49, leads the San Francisco 49ers against John Harbaugh, 50, coach of the Baltimore Ravens. This matchup will mark the second time the two have faced each other in an NFL game. Their father, Jack Harbaugh, spent 19 seasons as a college head coach at Western Michigan and Western Kentucky universities. John Harbaugh has won a playoff game in each of his first four NFL seasons. In his first two years as coach of the 49ers, Jim Harbaugh holds a record of 27-8-1 and won coach of the year for the 2011 season.

49ers Go For Team's 6th Super Bowl
The San Francisco 49ers are one of the most successful franchises in the NFL, winning a total of five Super Bowls. The 49ers are tied with the Dallas Cowboys for the second most Super Bowl wins and are the only team in NFL history to appear in more than one Super Bowl without ever losing. But, they haven't played in a Super Bowl in nearly 20 years and had a number of rough seasons up until the 2011 season when Jim Harbaugh took over. The 49ers fell a game short last season losing to the New York Giants in the N.F.C. championship game. The team is led by 25-year-old quarterback Colin Kaepernick who had only three NFL completions before this season.
Baltimore Ravens Go for 2nd Super Bowl
The Baltimore Ravens haven't played in a Super Bowl since 2000, when they defeated the New York Giants for their first championship in franchise history. But in the 2012 season, the team had a number of setbacks that most thought would be impossible to overcome. The Ravens lost a number of players to injuries, the team fired their offensive coordinator in December, and suffered a three-game losing streak. The team also had to beat Peyton Manning and Tom Brady to reach the Super Bowl which is no easy task.
Ravens' Ray Lewis Says He'll Retire After Super Bowl
The heart and soul of the Baltimore Ravens for the past 17 seasons, linebacker Ray Lewis, 37, has announced that he'll retire at the end of the 2012 season. Lewis tore his triceps in October. With 13 Pro Bowl selections and other awards, Lewis is one of the most decorated players in the NFL. Drafted in 1996, Lewis is the only remaining player from the Ravens' inaugural season.
New Orleans Hosts First Super Bowl Since Hurricane Katrina
The 47th annual Super Bowl will be played in New Orleans for the first time since before Hurricane Katrina. This will be the 10th Super Bowl held in New Orleans since 1970, tying the city with Miami for the most by any single location. The super bowl was last held at the Super Dome in 2002 and the city is planning a weeklong extravaganza including free concerts, the NFL experience, and a four-day party called the Verizon Super Bowl Boulevard.
Scramble For Super Bowl Tickets Underway
49ers and Ravens fans who don't have tickets to the big game have swarmed the secondary market where they'll find the average ticket price at $3,195,14. The ticket tracker site TipIQ says the matchup between the 49ers and Ravens is the "golden game" for ticket sales. Advertisers and the media have already become excited about the match-up between coaching brothers Jim and John Harbaugh. Also, the 49ers have a large market in San Francisco, meaning a large fan base that might be willing to travel to New Orleans. The official list prices for the Super Bowl's upper bowl, lower bowl and club seats are $850, $950 and $1,250 for 2013, according to Brian McCarthy, an NFL spokesman.
Destiny's Child to Re-unite at Half Time
The magazine US Weekly has reported that Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams will join Beyonce, already announced as the half- time performer, reuniting Destiny's Child. The group hasn't performed together since 2006. Destiny's Child will reportedly sing a medley of hits and end with a brand new song called, "Nuclear." Destiny's Child released its self-titled debut in 1998 with a fourth member. The group's sophomore album, "The Writing's on the Wall," came a year later and garnered multiple hits, but the success also shook up the foursome and Destiny's Child became a trio.
