PHOTOS: Boy and His Dog Are Best Friends
Bailey, a Yellow Lab, has been best friends with little Mason since he was born. The pair does everything together and, for the past two-and-half years, Mason’s father, Kyle Tarrant, has photographed their budding friendship. “She’s really protective of him, almost like she took a motherly role,” Tarrant told GoodMorningAmerica.com.“We were a little nervous about having a Lab that gets excited and likes to jump and play really rough. Once [Mason] came, [Bailey] … was immediately curious, but was calm and always had to lay by him. They are still like that today.”
When he posted the photos of the duo hugging, sleeping and playing together on Reddit, they garnered hundreds of thousands of views. “It was an accident. I was just putting pictures together for my wife and noticed that they showed them growing old together,” he said.
Mason will turn 3 in Dec. and now the two pals, who “wrestle and roughhouse a little more,” Tarrant said, have a new playmate: Jack, an Australian Shepherd Lab-Mix. Click through to see some of the duo’s sweetest moments through the years.
