Dad Builds Homemade Spaceship For Son in Backyard

Most doting dads are over-the-moon for their newborns, but this one took it to a cosmic level. Daniel Sherrouse of Gadsden, Ala., constructed a spaceship simulator in the backyard for his 16-month-old son, Noah. “When I found out my wife was pregnant I decided I wanted to build something special for my son that he could grow up with and be inspired by,” Sherrouse told ABCNews.com. The spaceship is built inside a small trailer he purchased, which is the most expensive part of the whole project and equipped with an air conditioning unit, a computer and more. “There’s a window AC unit …. a main computer, which runs the spaceship simulator program, and there’s a laptop that runs a radar screen saver,” he said.  Sherrouse plans to make additions as his son grows. “Hopefully his friends will think it’s cool and not make fun of him for having a spaceship,” he joked.
