Golden Globe Awards 2014: Best and Worst Looks on the Red Carpet

Worst: Let's start with the positive. We like the color because it's like a burst of sunshine. We like the cut. But it doesn't work for Lena Dunham. The Zac Posen gown doesn't seem to fit her correctly and the color doesn't do a lot for Dunham. We really wanted to like it, but we couldn't. REUTERS/Danny Moloshok

Worst: Woah, Paula Patton. We love a white dress, but there is WAY too much fabric here. It's like the designer didn't know what to do with the extra fabric and just said, "oh, let's just put it up by her shoulder." REUTERS/Danny Moloshok

Best: Patterns can be hard to pull off in a voluminous gown,but Kaley Cuoco does it. The pale pink almost gives it the pattern a watercolor effect. And let's be honest, Cuoco's newlywed glow adds a little something to the overall look. REUTERS/Danny Moloshok

Worst: Remember when Emma Stone and Nicole Kidman wore dresses with large bows around the neck? We loved them. We don't love Edie Falco's look. It's too shiny and ill-fitting. REUTERS/Danny Moloshok

Best: Julianna Margulies always opts for classic and it always works. The gold accents add the perfect amount of pop and did we mention that the dress has pockets? Yeah, it does. REUTERS/Mario Anzuoni

Best: Emma Roberts is all grown up. Though her black Lanvin gown is simple, the dress fits her like a glove and the brilliant, blue earrings are the perfect accessory to bring the focus to her face. Well done! REUTERS/Danny Moloshok

Best: You can say a lot of things about Taylor Swift, but that girl knows how to pick a red carpet gown. This Carolina Herrera number stuns with its dramatic train and gorgeous hue. Best: We said it before and we'll say it again -- this Oscar de la Renta dress was destined for Zooey Deschanel. The color, the texture, the length and the flowing skirt make this dreamy look exquisite. Danny Moloshok

Worst: Aubrey Plaza's purple color-block dress is just a bit too cute for us. We're sure little kids love the hues, but it lacks the sophistication that we crave on the red carpet. REUTERS/Danny Moloshok
