Pumpkin Carver Lights Up 'GMA' Anchors' Faces

Thanks to pumpkin carver Alex Wer of Elk Grove, Calif., you’re going to see the “GMA” team like you’ve never seen them before – in pumpkin form. Wer, who’s better known as “The Pumpkin Geek,” hand-carved the incredible life-like portraits onto artificial craft pumpkins. Using polyurethane craft pumpkins in place of the real thing allows him to use a hand-held dremel drill and create five layers of shading on the pumpkin’s surface for a more realistic final product. Wer, who is an insurance agent by day, has been carving pumpkins for the past six years and estimates he’s created close to 500 custom carvings. For more info on his work, click here.
