Sugar Bush: The World's Most Photographed Squirrel

Sugar Bush is easily the most famous, most fabulous and most photographed squirrel in the world. This squirrel has posed in more than 5,000 photos, in over 3,000 costumes, since her modeling career began in 2001. Sugar Bush’s  owner, Kelly Foxton, of Boca Raton, Fla., rescued the Eastern Gray Squirrel as a baby from her nest in a tree that was going to be cut down, and ever since then, Sugar Bush has been living in the lap of luxury. “We have a 4,000-sq.-foot house and Sugar Bush has about 2,500-sq.-feet of it,” Foxton told ABCNews.com. “We took the great room and the dining room, and turned it into the studio and ‘The Bushy Tail Boutique.’” It takes Foxton anywhere from 15 minutes to three months to build the elaborate photo sets for Sugar Bush’s shoots. And once the camera starts flashing, the actual squirrel-posing process can take an hour to three days -- depending on Sugar Bush’s mood, Foxton said.
