The Best and Worst Dressed at the 2012 Met Ball

BEST: Kate Bosworth looked effortless in her Gucci fringed mini-dress. The fringe trend appeared on the runway on many dresses, but Bosworth clearly did wore it best.

BEST: Paula Patton stands with the designer of her dress, Vera Wang, on the red carpet. The bright lilac dress with structural accents made it edgy but not overdone.

BEST: Ashley Greene wore a custom beaded Donna Karan gown to the Gala. This white, ethereal dress stood out on the red carpet.

BEST: Camilla Belle's beaded Ralph Lauren gown was accented with dark lips and sleek hair. The incredible silver dress fit her perfectly.

WORST: Elizabeth Banks' Fall 2012 Mary Katrantzou dress combined too many patterns together at one time. This futuristic dress is better off left in space.

WORST: Mary Kate Olsen wore a gown from her label, The Row. This ill-fitting black dress definitely isn't one of her best.

WORST: Anja Rubik seemed to draw inspiration from Angelina Jolie's leg trend. Her Anthony Vaccarello dress left nothing to the imagination, landing the Victoria Secret model on our worst dressed list.

WORST: Christina Ricci's Thakoon dress was an explosion of ruffles and ribbon in the front and back. We can't help but think the dress isn't finished.

WORST: Looking more like a girl from Austin Powers than a Met Ball attendee, Chloe Sevigny's Miu Miu dress missed the mark. We think she should have saved her Edie Sedgwick moment for a different occasion.

WORST: Coco Rocha wore Elizabeth Taylor's Givenchy gown at the 2012 gala. Complete with pink hair, we're sure Elizabeth Taylor looked much better in the ensemble.
