Which Breed Was Top Dog in 2013?
The results are in and it’s clear that Americans love their dogs, Labrador Retrievers in particular. The family-friendly breed has taken the top spot in this year’s American Kennel Club’s most popular dogs list for the 23rd year in a row. The ranking puts the Lab in the Kennel Club’s record books as the longest breed to hold a number one spot, the previous record being held by the poodle which had a 22-year reign at number one before being knocked off by the Lab decades ago.
