5 Hotel Kids' Clubs That Family Travelers Love (ABC News)

If you scroll down the list of amenities offered at most large resorts, you'll often see "Kids' Club" or "Children's Play Area" or "Children's Activity Room." As we all know, however, just because a hotel offers an amenity doesn't mean it's good.

And the last thing you want to do is have your kids get bored during your family vacation. Here are five hotels highly recommended by TripAdvisor travelers for their excellent kids' activities.

Club Med Ixtapa Pacific, Mexico

"The child program is absolutely fantastic," one TripAdvisor reviewer wrote. Babies as young as 4 months can spend time in the nursery and, as another reviewer noted, "The daycare for babies and toddlers is wonderful, trustworthy and fun for the kids. They do crafts, bake cookies, go on adventure walks ... my daughter Ava loved it!" For older kids, you'll find "kayaking, sailing, trapeze, archery, etc. all in one day -- seriously," according to another traveler.

Red Rock Casino Resort Spa, Las Vegas

Vegas and kids don't often mix well. But Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa is a truly family-friendly hotel. You won't be on the Strip, but your family can enjoy an on-property IMAX movie theater, arcade and bowling alley. And, more importantly, the kids can play in the Kids Zone club for up to five hours while you have a fancy dinner or hit the casino.

"My daughter loved it so much; she asked to go back even when she looked exhausted!" one TripAdvisor traveler wrote. The hotel also offers one-bedroom suites that are, according to another reviewer, "the way to go when you travel with kids."

Cavallino Bianco Family Spa Grand Hotel, Ortisei, Italy

This family hotel in the Italian Dolomites offers "peerless childcare and service," according to a TripAdvisor reviewer. Another wrote, "My boys loved the childcare at the Lino Club! They had … a wonderful, large facility, good child minders … supervised meals, and elaborate evening activities in the theatre (magic show, Hercules show, bingo night, game night)." Other travelers appreciated that full board and unlimited time in the kids' club are included in the room rate, and that only families with children are allowed to stay here.

Beaches Negril Resort & Spa, Jamaica

"If you have children that are into Sesame Street there is no place like this," according to one TripAdvisor traveler. Younger kids, accordingly, will have a blast here. "One of the biggest highlights of the trip was the Kids' Club. Our boys begged to go there every day and stay as long as possible. They loved the staff & all the organized activities," another parent wrote. And according to a third traveler, the staff provided a variety of activities and followed parental instructions: "There was a set of structured activities for our toddler! Play time, book time, nature walks, beach walks, playground, baby pool, costume and pizza making! All instructions were followed 100% - with diapers, bottle, nap routines - and nature walks and activities!"

Auchrannie Spa Resort, Isle of Arran, Scotland

This family-friendly resort on the Isle of Arran in Scotland draws high praise from TripAdvisor travelers. It doesn't have one great play area; it has several, so kids of all ages can find something fun to do. The centerpiece is the Play Barn, which one traveler describes as "a huge soft play [area] built up in three tiers [with] a cafe seating area where you can grab a snack and a drink whilst your child plays."

There's even a "soft play" area in one of the bars! According to another reviewer, that "meant that our daughter could also 'chill out' with her new made friends while we could relax and linger over dinner without her being bored."
