“Good Morning America” anchor Amy Robach had a tough week, and she’s using the huge snow storm hitting the northeast as the perfect excuse to hunker down and unwind.
“Honestly today, the first things she said was, ‘God, it’s going to be brutal this weekend. It’s an excuse to drink,’” Josh Elliott teased on “GMA LIVE!”
The anchor team erupted in laughter prompting Robach to come to her own defense.
“It’s cold in my apartment. I’ve got to do something to stay warm,” she joked. “I’ve had a few problems this week, and I feel like I deserve a little brewskie at the end.”
In all fairness, Robach has had quite a week.
“My boiler exploded,” she explained. “I’m in an old building. Last weekend the boiler above us flooded our apartment. And then I think they took our boiler that’s on our level and had it do extra duty. So now we have no heat.”
And that was just one of her problems.
“At the beginning of the week, she starts to get the creepy crud that’s been going around ‘GMA’ where you lose your voice,” Sam Champion said.
“And my husband has a black eye. From a soccer injury,” added Robach.
“So all of Amy’s friends thought she did it,” joked Champion. “So let me just put that out there, world. And then, the apartment above her leaks and she loses furniture, rugs, bed … ”
“And I threw my blackberry because I was really upset,” said Robach. “And now it’s cracked.”
“And then, her boiler goes out,” Champion said. “Now she has no heat on top of that. Ladies and gentlemen, Amy Robach.”
“This is a week, baby. This is a week. And I turned 40!,” Robach shouted.
