Big News for 'Hunger Games' Fans: 'GMA' to Debut Movie Trailer

Fans of “The Hunger Games” book trilogy won’t have to wait much longer to see what the nation of Panem, the opulent Capitol or Katniss Everdeen’s home in District 12 will look like on the big screen.

The trailer for the highly-anticipated film will make its world debut on “Good Morning America” Monday, Nov. 14. Actor Josh Hutcherson, who plays the character of Peeta Mellark in the film, will be live in Times Square.

The movie is an adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ young adult novel, which became an instant best-seller.

The story is set in the nation of Panem, what was once North America, where a teenage boy and girl from each of its twelve districts are sent annually to compete in the Hunger Games.  In the nationally televised-event, “tributes” must fight to the death against one another until a lone survivor remains.

The heroine, Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, is pitted against career competitors who have prepared for the games their entire lives. In the arena, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts and must make impossible choices that weigh survival against life and love.

The Lionsgate movie is set for release March 23, 2012.
