Which celebrity is exiting the ballroom dance floor?
Carson Kressley’s obvious enthusiasm for his ballroom dance routines apparently couldn’t make up for his lack of technical ability, and tonight the fashion guru was the latest star to get the boot from ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”
World Cup star Hope solo also had been in jeopardy of leaving tonight.
“I’ve got to say thank you to everyone involved in ‘Dancing With the Stars,’” he said, giving special thanks to his partner, Anna Trebunskaya. “This has been pure joy for me and I just I hope I can make people smile and laugh and have a great time.”
Kressley had consistently turned in performances that, while they may have failed technically, were always bubbly and wildly entertaining.
During last night’s ’80s week show, the “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” star danced a cheerleader-inspired jive to “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” by Wham!
Kressley was at times out of sync with Trebunskaya, and the three judges noted that lack of technique could work against him at this stage of the competition.
The fashion guru earned 19 points, landing him at the bottom of the pack. Actor and Iraq war veteran J.R. Martinez – a fan favorite – danced a sizzling samba that earned him 28 points and the top spot on the leaderboard.

Tonight’s show included performances from The Band Perry and Kelly Clarkson.
Elimination in the competition results from a combination of judges’ scores and audience votes. The celebrity with the lowest combined scores is sent home, until three stars remain. They and their partners compete for the championship.
Singer Chynna Phillips was booted off the dance floor last week. Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari, NBA champ Metta World Peace (former Ron Artest) and Italian model Elisabetta Canalis also have been eliminated this season.
Seven stars return to compete Monday: actor David Arquette, reality TV personality Rob Kardashian, Martinez, Solo, former talk show host Ricki Lake, activist Chaz Bono and TV host Nancy Grace.
