"GMA" is #1 for the Week of December 10th

"GMA" Continues to Grow Year-to-Year and Season-to-Date in Total Viewers While "Today" Declines by Double-Digits

Season-to-Date, "GMA" Leads "Today" by Largest Overall Viewer and Demo Margins in 20 Years

ABC's "Good Morning America" finished as the No. 1 morning program in both Total Viewers (5.091 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.890 million) for the week of December 10, 2012, according to Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" led NBC's "Today" (4.664 million and 1.865 million) by +427,000 overall viewers and by +25,000 Adults 25-54, ranking No. 1 in all 11 weeks this season in overall viewers and in 10 of 11 weeks in the key adult news demo.*

Compared to the year-ago week (w/o 12/12/11 - 4.856 million and 1.955 million, respectively) " GMA" grew in Total Viewers (+5%). In fact, the ABC morning newscast has seen increases over the same week last year in 11 of 11 weeks this season in Total Viewers and in 9 of 10 weeks in Adults 25-54. Further, "GMA" grew the most year to year in Total Viewers as the "Today Show" declined by -17% and "CBS This Morning" grew +2%.

Season to date, "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning news program in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" is leading "Today" by its largest season margin in overall viewers (+518,000) in more than 21 years and in the key adult news demo (+103,000) in 20years - since at least the 1991-92 season and the 1991-92 season, respectively; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Season to date "GMA" is up in both Total Viewers (+5%) and Adults 25-54 (+2%) versus its year-ago averages, growing the most year to year in Total Viewers and standing as the only morning newscast to grow in the key adult news demo (NBC's "Today" is down -16%/-23%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning" is mixed +3%/-4%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in 7 years and best Adult 25-54 performance in 4 years - since the 2005-06 and 2008-09 seasons, respectively.
