Grammy Awards 2013: Jennifer Lopez, Other Stars Flaunt the 'Memo'

CBS got people buzzing this week when it issued an advisory asking the talent at Sunday night's Grammy Awards to cover up, basically.

The memo, which was leaked to Deadline.com, asked that talent be sure their "buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered." "Thong type costumes" and "bare sides or under curvature of the breasts" are listed as "problematic."

The memo also advised against "bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack" and sheer, see-through clothing, and asked that genitals be covered "so that there is no visible 'puffy' bare skin exposure."

Some stars adhered to the requirements, while others seemed to skirt it somewhat.

When singer/actress Jennifer Lopez - who made red carpet history at the Grammys in 2000 when she wore a green Versace that plunged down to her navel - took to the stage to present the award for Best Solo Performance, she was dressed in a black off-the-shoulder dress by Anthony Vaccarello that left one entire leg bare all the way to her upper thigh.

She joked to the audience that she had "read the memo," and her co-presenter, Miami rapper Pitbull, joked that she "inspired the memo."

Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland also seemed to push the envelope with her daring black mermaid dress. Its sheer cut-outs from neck to waist and hip to knees revealed lots of skin, including part of her breasts.

"I had two other choices. You just sort of cross your fingers and hope you don't break any rules," she said of her gown.

Canadian actress Keltie Colleen donned a beaded purple and silver body suit with a plunging neckline over which she wore a long purple skirt that was split to the thigh.

Singers Miranda Lambert, Skylar Grey, Ashanti and Katy Perry, and models Chrissy Teigen and Karlie Kloss also wowed in daring, skin-baring looks.

And singer Rihanna, who turned heads in a very sheer tiered white dress at the 2011 Grammy awards, appeared tonight in a gauzy, sleeveless red gown.
