The tearful 39-year-old's father suffered from heart disease and died in March of 2008.

"You know my dad died … and losing my husband, those are the two main staples in my life," she said.

The couple had been married for 11 years and have three daughters.  They called themselves the "Facinelli Five" and were seen as the ideal couple.

Citing irreconcilable differences, 38-year-old Facinelli filed for divorce in March.

"You know it's very painful to break up with somebody especially after you've been together for 17 years and you have kids.  It's even more painful when it's played out in the media and I've tried to stay really quiet about it for the sake of my kids," Facinelli told Kelly Ripa when he co-hosted the show in April.

The actor has garnered recent attention co-starring in "Nurse Jackie" and as Carlisle Cullen in "Twilight."

"It's sad, but I really learned from this experience how much I loved him - how deeply I loved him, how deeply I loved us," Garth admitted to her therapist.

Her therapists ask her if she wants to tell her ex, to which Garth responds, "Yeah."
