Lena Dunham Slams Blog Offering $10K for Unretouched Vogue Images

Lena Dunham is once again making headlines for her body. This time, though, the "Girls" creator is reacting to the $10,000 bounty offered by lifestyle blog Jezebel for the un-retouched photos from Dunham's Vogue cover shoot.
Jezebel received the photos within hours of offering the cash payout and has since posted a detailed look at exactly what parts of Dunham's body were photoshopped. Captions point out where Dunham's jawline has been narrowed, the neckline of her dress pulled up, her waistline slimmed and her hips pulled in.
"They didn't change her body that I could tell in very drastic ways," Amy Boshnack, editorial director at The Stir.com, said on "Good Morning America." "I don't think they did anything major to her body shape."
Dunham reacted to the news by telling online magazine Slate.com, "A fashion magazine is like a beautiful fantasy. Vogue isn't the place that we go to look at realistic women." She also tweeted, "10k? Give it to charity then just order HBO."
Jezebel editor Jessica Coen defended the site's actions in a statement to "Good Morning America:" "This is about Vogue, and what Vogue decides to do with a specific woman who has very publicly stated that she's fine just the way she is."
Vogue's editor Anna Wintour did not comment specifically on this situation, but said in a statement to "Good Morning America" that "Lena is a strong, confident woman who charts her own path-and that, to my mind, makes her an inspiring role model and the perfect cover for our February issue. Lena has been acclaimed in so many ways, rightly being described as the voice of her generation. But the quality I admire most about her is that she is fearless; fearless in how she works, in her choices, and, of course, about fashion."
