Super Bowl-Bound Seahawks Make One Child's Wish Come True (ABC News)

Chris Connelly of ESPN's "E:60" reports:

Kevin Lee plays violin in his middle school orchestra.

The rough and tumble of contact sports could be life-threatening for the 12-year-old because he was born with a rare heart condition that stops the heart from getting oxygenated blood to his lungs.

"I have this heart surgery thing and it kind of stops me from doing stuff," said Kevin of Farmington Hills, Mich. "Something could go wrong and I could just die."

Kevin has had four heart surgeries, the first when he was 3 days old.

"I just wanted to hold him," said his mother, Dawn Lee. "He's still at high risk for sudden death."

Even though his medical condition keeps Kevin off the field, his mother said, "He loves to throw the football around [and] he loves watching sports."

So when the Make-A-Wish Foundation asked him what he wanted most in the world, Kevin said to meet his favorite team - the Seattle Seahawks.

The catch? Kevin wanted his dad to be there too.

Kevin's parents are divorced and his father, Doug Lee, works and lives a world away in the Middle East and can only travel home once a year.

Sports is a big part of their bond.

"I think his dad not being here, that this was one thing that they share is football," Dawn Lee said.

That's why last summer when Kevin got a surprise video message from Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, inviting him to meet the team, his reaction was somewhat muted.

But another surprise awaited, as Kevin's doorbell rang. Downstairs behind a flurry of balloons was someone who'd traveled 7,000 miles to be there - his dad.

"He's been through more than I'll ever be through in my whole entire life," Doug Lee said of his son. "To this day I call him Superman."

Days later, Kevin and his dad rolled up to the Seahawks training camp and the boy who doesn't always get to play back home took the field with his football heroes.

On his special day, Kevin showed off his quarterback arm, even scoring a touchdown.

Now, Kevin is heading to the Super Bowl to watch his Seahawks in action.
