Taste Test: Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte Ice Cream

With the latte shortage over and news of an ice cream making waves, it's been a good week for pumpkin spice latte. We tested a pint of the latte-inspired ice cream to see if it lives up to its coffeehouse roots.

A combination of "swirled coffee and pumpkin spice ice creams," this ice cream is the perfect balance of two generally strong flavors. The coffee swirl was stronger than the pumpkin, which appealed to the pickier testers who don't love spicy pumpkin flavor.

We tried the ice cream after it had softened a bit and it had a "subtle, creamy" texture that wasn't icy. It wasn't "cloying" or overly sweet. One tester described it as a "great afternoon pick-me-up."

Die-hard fans of the latte agreed that the ice cream was a great take on the drink. Visions of pumpkin milkshakes and scoops on top of Thanksgiving pies made this a frozen treat worth cleaning out your freezer for.
