Super Bowl XLVII: Top 6 Things to Know
Super Bowl 47 is in the books, and it proved to be just as intense, and way stranger, than advertised. Here are the top six things to know about last night's game.
Ravens Win Second Championship The Baltimore Ravens won their second Lombardi trophy. They've made it to the playoffs each of the past five years, and emerged at the top of the heap this year for the first time since the 2000 season. Despite nearly blowing a seemingly insurmountable lead, they were able to hold on for a 34-31 victory. The team is now 2/2 in Super Bowl appearances, and the only team to never lose in multiple Super Bowl appearances.

John Emerges Victorious from the Battle of the Harbaughs In the battle of the Harbaughs, older brother John Harbaugh beat his younger brother, Jim Harbaugh. In a post-game interview, John said when he and his brother met for the tradition handshake after the game, he told his brother he loves him, and Jim congratulated John on the victory. The men were the first brothers to ever face each other as head coaches in the Super Bowl. The Harbaugh-led Ravens are now 2-0 against the Harbaugh-led 49ers.
Beyonce's Show-Stopping Halftime Show Going into the Super Bowl, everyone was wondering if Beyonce was going to sing live. During her halftime show, she gave an energetic live performance of some of her biggest hits including "Crazy in Love" and "Single Ladies," although the show was more about her endless dancing than her voice. The biggest surprise was a reunion with her former Destiny's Child group members, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. All together, the women sang their hits "Bootylicious" and "Independent Woman Part I."

Long Power Outage Leaves Superdome in the Dark Shortly after Beyonce left the field, and right after a record-tying rushing touchdown for the Ravens, a power surge knocked out the power at the indoor Superdome. The broadcast cut to commercial twice during a lengthy delay. The fans and coaches got antsy and players remained on the field trying to stay warmed up during the 34 minute delay. When the power came back on, it looked like the outage swung momentum towards the 49ers.
49ers Fall Just Short of Record-Breaking Comeback Right before the power outage, the 49ers were trailing 28-6. When the game resumed, the 49ers mounted what was nearly a record-shattering comeback run. Quickly, they scored three touchdowns and a field goal, turning what looked like a blowout into a true nail-biter. Despite the incredible comeback run, they couldn't quite get the job done, losing in the end 34-31.
Flacco Drops F-Bomb Quarterback Joe Flacco was named MVP, and just after the game was caught using some colorful language on the live broadcast. CBS' cameras caught Flacco saying "f***ing awesome!" while celebrating with his teammates. We're glad to hear that he's pleased.
