A year after marrying his second wife in 1996, Clint Eastwood told British newspaper The Independent, "As far as I'm concerned, this is the woman I like monogamy with."
The well-known ladies man seemed to have settled down. That is until, Dina Eastwood, 48, filed for legal separation earlier this week after 17 years of marriage.
The former TV news anchor is seeking spousal support and physical custody of the couple's 16-year-old daughter, Morgan. Her petition also acknowledges that there is a premarital agreement between her and the 83-year-old Oscar winning actor and director.
Clint Eastwood has yet to comment on the split, which comes while he's directing his latest film, a screen adaptation of the popular Broadway show "Jersey Boys." But this isn't Eastwood's first rodeo.
The screen legend, who is father to seven children by five different women, has been through many public romances and breakups through the decades.

Clint Eastwood's only other marriage was to model Maggie Johnson in 1953 when Eastwood was 23. The couple met on a blind date and married six months later. But after a decade of marriage, the pair separated in 1964. During a brief reunion, Johnson gave birth to their two children, Kyle Eastwood and Alison Eastwood. Johnson and Eastwood officially divorced in May 1984.
Johnson and Eastwood's first separation came just after he welcomed his first child, Kimber Tunis, during an affair with actress-dancer Roxanne Tunis. Tunis and Eastwood met on the set of his hit series "Rawhide." Despite his marriage to Johnson, Eastwood and Tunis continued their relationship well into the 1970s. She even appeared in his 1978 film, "Every Which Way But Loose."
Whispers of romance between Eastwood and his pretty blond co-star Sondra Locke began on the set of their second movie together, "The Gauntlet," in 1977. Locke and the still-married Eastwood moved in together and made four more films together in the next 12 years before their highly publicized split. Locke filed a palimony lawsuit against Eastwood in 1989, when he changed the locks on their Bel-Air home. After a protracted legal battle, they finally settled out of court.
In her 1997 memoir, "The Good, the Bad, and the Very Ugly," Locke wrote that Eastwood persuaded her to have two abortions and a tubal ligation under false pretenses, accused him of sabotaging her directorial career after they split up and revealed that he secretly fathered two children with another woman during the last three years of their relationship.
The other woman Locke referred to was Jacelyn Reeves, a flight attendant, with whom Eastwood had an affair in the mid-80s. Their affair resulted in two children, Scott Eastwood and Kathryn Eastwood. The kids grew up in Hawaii with their mother, but saw plenty of their dad. Scott Eastwood, who has appeared in several of his famous father's films before getting a starring role in "Texas Chainsaw 3D," told the Chicago Sun-Times, "If I wasn't in school, I was on his sets as a kid. ... I had to earn my keep, which was good. It was quite an education. You don't want to just be 'the son.' You want to be part of the team."
In 1990, Eastwood struck up a romance with actress Frances Fisher after they met on the set of "Pink Cadillac." The pair lived together for five years, welcoming daughter Francesca Fisher-Eastwood in 1993. An aspiring actress and model, Fisher-Eastwood, now 20, made regular appearances on Dina Eastwood's E! reality series, "Mrs. Eastwood & Company."
Eastwood met the former TV news anchor Dina Ruiz when she was assigned to interview the legendary actor-director about his film "Unforgiven" in 1993. Soon after, they attended a function where they ended up sitting together and holding hands. Asked by Carmel Magazine in 2007 what initially attracted him to Ruiz, Eastwood said, "The big doe eyes. She's a very forthright kind of person. It's one of those things you can't put your finger on because it's pheromones or something. So we got married, and we had a child."
The pair married in March 1996 and Ruiz became Mrs. Eastwood.
