David Schwimmer and Zoe Buckman are separating
David Schwimmer and wife Zoe Buckman have confirmed they are taking "some time apart" after six years of marriage.
The Friends star and photographer released a joint statement to E! News which read: "It is with great love, respect and friendship that we have decided to take some time apart while we determine the future of our relationship.
"Our priority is, of course, our daughter's happiness and well being during this challenging time, and so we ask for your support and respect for our privacy as we continue to raise her together and navigate this new chapter for our family."
The couple have been together for ten years, after meeting while the actor and director was filming 2007's romantic comedy Run in London.
British-born Zoe, 31, - who reportedly met David when she served him in a bar in central London - relocated from north London to Los Angeles to live with him, and the pair married in 2010.
They have a five-year-old daughter Cleo Buckman Schwimmer.
Speaking about the pressures of fame recently and its impact on his relationships, David told The Hollywood Reporter: “It was pretty jarring and it messed with my relationship to other people in a way that took years, I think, for me to adjust to and become comfortable with.
“The effect of celebrity was the absolute opposite: it made me want to hide under a baseball cap and not be seen. And I realised after a while that I was no longer watching people; I was trying to hide."
