New sitcom "The Mick" looks like it should fancy its chances going into 2017 after good ratings came in for the New Year's Day debutant.

Starring Kaitlin Olsen of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" as Mickey Murphy, the unlikely parental guardian to her three rich kid nieces, adult-oriented comedy "The Mick" netted an enviable 2.4 rating among adults aged 18 to 49, with a viewership of 7.4 million to boot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

That bodes well in comparison to first episodes of "Ransom" (0.9 rating from 7m viewers) and a "Bachelor" preview (0.8 rating, 3m.)

Sofia Black D'Elia "Skins" and "Gossip Girl," and "The Night Of," and Thomas Barbusca of "American Horror Story: Hotel" and "Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life" also feature, with Jack Stanton making his debut as the youngest of the Pemberton kids.

The show was created and written by John and Dave Chernin, also of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
