Dad Creates Tricky Treasure Hunt for Son’s 11th Birthday

A birthday cake and candles just wasn’t going to cut it for this 11-year-old’s birthday. Dad Dave Spencer, of Georgetown, Canada, planned an elaborate treasure hunt for his son, Brody, to celebrate turning eleven last weekend. Spencer got the idea from a friend who had done something similar, but decided to “take things up a notch.” The treasure hunt began with a secret map hidden inside a pipe in their heating vent, sending Brody off on a birthday journey like no other. Some of the boy’s stops included searching “under a road” and crossing a “dangerous bridge,” where a tree trunk had fallen over a stream.  Young Brody’s patience paid off, however. He eventually found and unlocked his hidden treasure chest, discovering $63 of Canadian coins inside.
