    • Julie Bowen Faces Criticism for Joking About Barron Trump During Inauguration

Julie Bowen has come under fire for her comments about Barron Trump. Julie Bowen made Donald Trump’s inauguration more fun to watch, but not everyone appreciated her witty banter. The Modern Family star, who often details the funny antics of her own three sons, posted a few Instagram photos during the ceremony focusing on Barron Trump, the 10-year-old son of the new president and his wife, Melania.

    • Trump administration suspends FHA mortgage premium rate cut

(CNNMoney) The freshly-inaugurated Trump administration has halted a cut to the FHA mortgage insurance premium that Obama's team announced during his final days in office. The Department of Housing and Urban Development said Friday that the reduction to the annual mortgage insurance premiums borrowers pay when taking out government-backed home loans has been "suspended indefinitely." The cut, at a quarter of a percentage point, would have saved homeowners an average of $500 this year, according to the Federal Housing Administration. Borrowers with larger home loans would have seen an even bigger drop in their premium rate. The mortgage-fee reduction was originally announced January 9 and was

Martellus Bennett doesn’t know how Tom Brady is feeling. He doesn’t know how Brady’s been. When a reporter asked Bennett about Brady, Bennett responded with the kind of hilarious response he’s been known to produce. “I don’t have a Tom Brady mood ring,” he told reporters on Thursday. Brady sounded a little hoarse on Wednesday but said he’s “good” when asked if he has a cold. Brady was also not listed on the injury report on Wednesday. The reporters were surely asking what Bennett had observed of Brady at practice and in meetings. Bennett clearly was not willing to offer that information.

    • Karen Gillan Swears There’s A Reason For Her Skimpy Jumanji Costume

This isn't the first time that Karen Gillan has had to defend the Jumanji wardrobe. While it's difficult to know for sure why the costume exists, there does seem to be one compelling argument based on what we already know. We know that this new version of Jumanji will not take place around a board game, but rather inside a video game version of the title. The four main actors that we see are, from what we understand, avatars being controlled, or more likely, inhabited, by four teenagers who are playing the game. It's for this reason that Karen Gillan looks like an old school Lara Croft, because that's exactly the character trope that it is being represented here.

    • Falling asleep too quickly is a bad thing — here's why

The INSIDER Summary: • Falling asleep within five minutes of your head hitting the pillow is a bad sign. • It's one of the most common signs of sleep deprivation. • It should take around 20 minutes for you to fall asleep every night. Passing out as soon as your head hits the pillow is everyone's ideal way of falling asleep. But it's actually not ideal at all. Dr. Michael Breus, sleep specialist and author of "The Power of When," says that falling asleep too quickly — within five minutes of your head hitting the pillow — is a common sign of sleep deprivation (i.e. not getting enough sleep). Sleep shouldn't be instantaneous. Sleep is not an on, off switch," he says. "It's more like slowly pulling

    • Trump immediately revokes price break for mortgages

MAGA comes at you fast—the rate cut was announced just 11 days ago. As President Donald Trump sat signing paperwork with congressional leaders Friday afternoon, his administration sprang into a strangely specific action: They made it harder for Americans to afford their own homes. And the change specifically will impact lending to the poor. Just 11 days after the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) had announced a cut in fee rates for mortgages, Trump’s team revoked the price cut. The small but significant reduction in mortgage insurance premiums had been set to go into effect January 27, but is now “suspended indefinitely,” per an administration letter. Analysts heralded the fee

    • The inauguration is over, but these Michelle Obama memes will still help you get through the day

Michelle Obama is all of us today. Forced to attend Donald Trump's inauguration on her last official day as first lady, Obama, who is normally the picture of grace and elegance, let things slide a little. The result? Her facial expressions at the inauguration are everything. And thanks to the internet, we can all commiserate with FLOTUS on this awful day with all of the memes. First there's all her amazing side-eye, proving that FLOTUS is a little salty, even though she's been (mostly) hiding it for eight years for diplomacy's sake: Maybe the most awkward moment of the whole day: There's this face, which is honestly perfect for all of our feels today: After all that shade, here's a good reminder:

In a strong message that serves as warning to those intent on disregarding the rules in national parks, including Yellowstone, a judge sentenced two members of the filmmaking group High on Life SundayFundayz to jail time. A third member who also pled guilty avoided jail but was fined Thursday, just as two others from the group did in November when they appeared before Magistrate Judge Mark Carman and pled guilty. The Canadian group, consisting of five men, ignored warnings and broke laws, and videotaped and photographed its antics, then posted them on Facebook. The group’s most egregious actions came on May 16, 2016 at Yellowstone National Park where four members disregarded warning signs and

In one of the most despicable, outrageous displays at a boxing event in years, Angel Garcia went on a vile rant in which a riot was prevented only because Keith Thurman is such a classy, decent human being. Thurman will fight Danny Garcia in a WBA-WBC welterweight title unification bout on March 4 on CBS in what should be one of the best fights of the year. Kudos, though, to Thurman for having the type of self-restraint that enabled him to remain cool despite Angel Garcia calling him all manner of racial epithets.

FOR Admiral Wu Shengli, the commander of China’s navy since 2006, it must have been a sweet swansong to mark his imminent retirement. In November China announced that its first and only aircraft-carrier, the Liaoning, was combat ready. On December 24th its navy duly dispatched an impressive-looking carrier battle-group with three escorting destroyers, a couple of frigates, a corvette and a refuelling ship. It sailed from the northern port of Qingdao down through the Miyako Strait, past Taiwan and into the South China Sea. Three weeks later the Liaoning (pictured) was back in port having sailed home via the Taiwan Strait, thus completing a loop around the island. The point was not lost on the

Dance Moms‘ Abby Lee Miller is in the midst of a two-day sentencing hearing, and she’s already made one major concession. Miller still doesn’t know whether she will have to go to prison after pleading guilty to a bankruptcy fraud charge from June 2016, but she will forfeit the $120,000 Australian that she pleaded guilty to failing to report when she brought it into the United States illegally, reports the Associated Press. In October 2015, Miller was charged with attempting to hide $775,000 of income from her Lifetime series and its spin-off, Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition, as well as multiple other projects during Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
