Keith Davis: PTSD treatment and urban violence in Philadelphia

Few hospitals treat psychological trauma for gunshot victims who live in violent urban American neighborhoods. John Rich and Ted Corbin, two African-American doctors in Philadelphia have started the pioneer program to treat PTSD among young men. They have started a national movement that uses the hospital emergency room as an entry point to treat traumatic stress in gunshot victims. 22-year-old Keith Davis was knifed in a dispute in August 2014 at the corner of 18th and Ridge in Philadelphia. He currently attends the treatment program, in addition to going to school and working part-time jobs (Yahoo News)
