    • Dear Abby: Family thinks ill husband is faking it

DEAR ABBY: My husband has been sick and unable to work for several years due to a debilitating illness. He has been home taking care of the kids while I have been working full time. We have lost everything because of the financial burden of his illness. I am very grateful to my parents for helping us financially during this tough time. Unfortunately, I believe some of my family think my husband is faking his illness. This is hurtful since they have known him for a long time (we’ve been married 12 years). My sister recently asked him in a rather nasty way why he doesn’t just go get a job, and I’m beginning to think that my parents share her sentiment. He already feels guilty and worthless for

Australian golden retriever Oscar had to get minor surgery. This is decidedly bad news, but his post-surgery bliss says otherwise. • Gordon Ramsay Reveals the 1 Place You Should Never Eat

Sure, Gordon Ramsay has high standards, but is there really anything he would never eat? Turns out it's more of a place where he would never eat rather than one specific food — and that's on a plane. In an interview with Refinery29, Gordon revealed his feelings about airplane food and why those feelings might be justified. "There's no f*cking way I eat on planes," he said. "I worked for airlines for 10 years, so I know where this food's been and where it goes, and how long it took before it got on board." Yikes. The man has a point — there's no denying that airplane food is not the best. So what's a traveler to do to avoid midflight hunger, according to the world-renowned chef? If you're like

    • IT trailer changes one memorable scene from the book, and the result is terrifying

Warner Bros. released the first trailer for its adaptation of IT today and a scene featuring the projector has become its most celebrated moment. The scene in question takes place near the end of the trailer, when a group of kids are gathered in an attic and watching home movies. At some point, the projector encounters a glitch and as the video continues, the terrifying clown who haunts the town, Pennywise, appears on screen. In the original book, Bill and Richie are looking at Georgie's old photo album, and the same ordeal occurs, but the change is being seen as a positive thing by most fans. “I like the change,” one person wrote on Reddit. “More interactive, more visual. ‘90s version was cheesy

    • This Mom Saved Her Kids From Being Abducted With One Important Lesson

When Jodie Norton, the Utah-based blogger behind Time Well Spent, went to the emergency room last year, she got the scare of her life. Only, the scare wasn't related to her health. According to Norton, while she was in the ER, two of her kids were almost abducted. Thankfully, they remembered the "Tricky People" lesson their mom had taught them and stayed safe. Recently, the story has resurfaced, and the message is as timeless as ever. It all started when Norton was in the shower one morning and started experiencing unbearable pain, which turned out to be a ruptured ovarian cyst. Somehow, she got dressed, loaded her four kids into the car, and drove to the hospital five minutes away (she says

Last year, a futuristic water taxi startup called SeaBubbles first revealed its bold vision to revolutionize urban travel: a network of autonomous, egg-shaped river shuttles equipped with hydrofoils and distributed to cities situated on major waterways around the globe. The idea seemed pretty far out at the time, but now the creators have shared the first images of their first full-scale prototype exclusively with The Verge. The vessels literally hover inches above the water thanks to a similar physics phenomenon that powers the record-setting Hydroptere sailboat in the air.

    • Sneaky grandpa raises a litter of stray kittens behind grandma's back

Keeping secrets become dangerous when you're in a marriage. But the secret becomes less dangerous if it involves raising stray kittens, as one grandpa found out. Syl, the granddaughter of this compassionate man, posted about her grandpa Jimmy's clandestine kitten-raising on Twitter and accompanied the story with an absolutely precious photo of her grandpa in action. SEE ALSO: Lazy little bird hitches a ride on uninterested cat my grandpa let a stray cat have her kittens in his tool shed and now he's raising a bunch of cats behind my grandmas back bc she said no — syl (@lillsyl) March 9, 2017 @lillsyl angel pic.twitter.com/ToTa3JOBUs — syl (@lillsyl) March 12, 2017 According to The Dodo, Jimmy is 85 years old and lives in Puerto Rico, where a number of stray cats prowl the neighborhood. While Jimmy tended to give in and care for the cats, his wife did not want the cats coming around their house. "My grandpa felt for the stray cats and would leave food in the back of the house near his tool shed, a spot where my grandma doesn't go," Syl told The Dodo. "This particular cat was especially friendly and got attached to my grandpa." So attached, in fact, that the pregnant cat ended up having her kittens in that very same tool shed, where Jimmy allowed her to stay and care for her kittens, all in secret. Grandma did eventually find out three weeks later, but she relented.  "She's okay with them staying there until they're old enough to have new homes," Syl said. We wish all the cats to eventually be adopted into loving home. But for now, we'll simply enjoy the idea of an 85-year-old man spending his time playing with kittens.
