    • Republican Legislators Propose a Series of Bills That Would Criminalize Peaceful Protests

While most of the world is still buzzing with positive energy from the Women's Marches on Saturday, several Republican legislators have been working hard to potentially make future peaceful protests a punishable offense. According to The Intercept, several proposals have been introduced by Republican legislators over the past few weeks specifically targeting protests that block or obstruct traffic—including a North Dakota bill that would allow motorists to hit and kill protesters obstructing the highway "as long as [the] driver does so accidentally." Another bill in Minnesota would make obstructing a highway a "gross misdemeanor" punishable by a hefty fine of $3,000 and up to a year in jail,

Sorry not sorry. Likewise, Kendall also chose something very transparent – a black fishnet long sleeve crewneck top worn under a white knit tube top – and kept the ensemble seasonally appropriate thanks to a black fur jacket, leather pants and strappy heels.

    • Pro Race Car Driver Banned From SeaWorld for 'Mourning Loss' of Tilikum

On the morning of Jan. 6, one of SeaWorld's most well-known orcas, Tilikum, passed away surrounded by trainers, care staff and veterinarians at the Orlando, Florida ocean theme park where the famous killer whale lived most of his life. Coincidentally on that same weekend, professional race car driver and environmental advocate Leilani Münter was in town to give a speech at a sustainability symposium. Tilikum's death particularly struck a chord; the longtime animal rights activist once drove a Blackfish-themed race car at the Talladega Superspeedway in 2014 to raise awareness about cetaceans in captivity. "Heartbroken" over the news and prompted by her chance proximity to the deceased whale, Münter drove to SeaWorld on the afternoon of Jan. 8 to pay her respects.

    • Sweet thank you card from ball girl to tennis pro Jo-Wilfried Tsonga goes viral

There isn't always room for niceties in the world of professional sport, but French tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has bucked the trend. You might remember him helping out a ball girl who was in tears after being struck by a ball at last year's Australian Open, stopping the match to accompany her off the court. SEE ALSO: Tennis pros: Don't hit ball kids 'cos your hopes and dreams will be dashed Here's a video of the moment to help jog your memory. Well, twelve months on, the ball girl — real name Giuliana — penned a thank you card to the Frenchman, which he shared on Facebook while back in Melbourne for the tennis tournament. "Dear Mr Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you for helping me out on court during your round 2 match of the Australian Open 2016," the letter reads. "I'm not sure if you remember me but I was the ball girl you escorted off court. I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise for all the times when you asked for the ball but I didn't service it to you or acknowledge you." The card revealed Giuliana had a virus on the day that also affected her hearing and vision, hence inhibiting her performance on the court. The expectations for these ball kids are understandably set quite high. "Thank you so much for the kindness you showed me. I really appreciate that you were able to see that I needed some help and were kind enough to escort me off court," Giuliana added. She signed off the card with her name and her ball kid number, #180. At the time, Tsonga told reporters that he "didn't do anything special" by helping her off the court, but he did thank Giuliana for her letter Sunday. What a guy, hey. • This is the iPhone 8 we’ve been waiting to see

For Apple fans, the arrival of a new year means a few things. First, it means that new iPads are on the way — at least, they're on the way if recent rumors of delays aren't accurate. But beyond that, it means the start of a fresh new cycle of rumors and leaks that will continue right up until September, when Apple finally takes the wraps off of this year's new iPhone models. For the iPhone's tenth anniversary, the rumor cycle kicked off early this time around. In fact, iPhone 8 rumors first started popping up months before the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus even debuted. We've seen and heard plenty of intriguing things so far about Apple's upcoming redesigned iPhone, and now all of the rumors have been visualized in what may very well be one of the sleekest iPhone concepts we've ever seen. YouTube channel "ConceptsiPhone" has posted a video that attempts to visualize many of the iPhone 8 rumors and reports we've seen so far. Multiple sources have claimed that Apple's 2017 iPhone will Apple go back to a design similar to the one used on the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5, with a glass face and a glass back joined by stainless steel edges. With a few exceptions (like that camera... oof ), the concept phone shown off in the video below is a gorgeous modernization of Apple's earlier iPhone designs. It features curved glass on the front and back with lines that are continued by the stainless steel wrapped around the phone's edges. The display on the front stretches all the way to either side of the device, and the home button has been removed, just like we expect. Replacing it is a next-generation Touch ID scanner embedded in the screen, and the rest of the button's functions are expected to be replaced by 3D Touch gestures. Here are some more iPhone 8 specs envisioned in the video: High quality Gorilla Glass Liquid metal frame 6.9mm thin 5.8 inch OLED edge to edge display Wireless Charging Touch ID built into display Second touch sensitive display on lower bezel Smart connector 10nm A11 chip Dual 12mp wide angle + telephoto lens 3D camera technology Will this iPhone 8 concept come anywhere close to representing the real thing Apple has planned for us later this year? No one know, but we can certainly hope that's the case. The full video is embedded below, and check out this post for a rundown of some of the biggest changes we're expecting in the iPhone 8.

The Clintons are already plotting their comeback, a new report details. Hillary Clinton is looking for a path to return to the political fray, as both she and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, examine how the former secretary of state suffered the most surprising, epic political defeat in recent memory, Politico reports. “[D]espite the grave disappointment, resilience is in the Clintons’ DNA. Tom Brady has had a hugely impressive and lengthy career as the quarterback of the New England Patriots. • Tennis pros: Don't hit ball kids 'cos your hopes and dreams will be dashed

Showing frustration on the court is pretty standard for tennis players, but it ended badly for 17-year-old Italian player Maria Vittoria Viviani. Viviani was disqualified from the junior girls tournament at the Australian Open after she hit a ball kid with a ball in frustration on Sunday. SEE ALSO: You're breaking my balls: Tennis pro smashes rival in the groin during match Viviani had just lost a point from an unforced error against her Chinese opponent Xin Yu Wang in the first set. Annoyed, she hit a ball away with her racquet toward the side of the court. That ball then hit a ball kid in the chest, but the force was minimal, according to Italian news outlet Il Sussadario . It's not clear how they judged that, but it is true that Viviani appears to tap the ball away rather than thwack it with critical force. Viviani can be seen trying to apologise quickly afterwards, but it was enough to send her packing from the court in tears. The match ended 6-2 to Wang. It's not the first time that a ball hitting someone else on the court has ended in a player being disqualified.  English player Tim Henman was given his marching orders during a doubles match at Wimbledon in 1995 when he hit a ball away following the loss of a point and hit a ball girl in the face.
