    • ‘Ice cream killer’ is so dangerous, she’s headed to a men’s prison

A Spanish murderer dubbed the “ice cream killer” is so dangerous, she’s being moved to an all-male prison to serve out her life sentence, according to a new report. Estibaliz Carranza, 38, earned the chilling nickname after she shot her boyfriend and ex-husband to death in 2008, cut up their bodies with a chainsaw and hid them in the freezers of her ice cream store in Vienna, Austria. The Mexican-born Spanish national stored the body parts in ice cream tubs filled with concrete and disguised the smell with air fresheners. Now, she’ll spend the rest of her life in an all-male prison in Asten, Austria, because she shows an “advanced reduction of the relevant dangerousness,” according to the Mirror.

    • Gator or dinosaur? Massive reptile stuns tourists; video

Alligator sightings are not typically a big deal in Florida, because so many of the prehistoric-looking reptiles roam the Sunshine State’s waterways. But not all alligators, thankfully, are created equal. This became apparent over the weekend when an alligator so massive that it almost looked fake emerged onto a nature center pathway, stopping tourists in their tracks. “I probably should’ve been a little more afraid than I was,” Kristi Buckley told First Coast News. “I was just so inspired by seeing this amazing creature come across the path, who’d obviously been there for decades.” Buckley and her husband, Sean, named the gator Godzilla. ABC News captioned a photo stating that the colossal gator

    • If the iPhone 8 Looks Like This, the Galaxy S8 Is in Trouble

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are great upgrades, especially if you opt for the dual-camera-equipped Plus, but they don't really look any different from Apple's previous iPhones. If the new device looks anything like this, Apple will probably have a winner on its hands in time to celebrate the iPhone's tenth anniversary. Like the current iPhone, the iPhone 8 models on display here have curved edges, but both the front and back are made of glass, while the frame is stainless steel.

    • Fired IT worker changed password, wants $200K to fix it, college says

INDIANAPOLIS — A fired IT employee took his revenge on a for-profit online college before he left, changing a password on an account that stored email and course material for 2,000 students, the Indianapolis-based online school has alleged in a lawsuit. In his own lawsuit, the employee contends that the administrator's password was autosaved on his company laptop that was returned to the college and his firing was racial discrimination. But lawyers for the American College of Education said Triano Williams of Riverdale, Ill., really wants the school to rehire him as a consultant — for $200,000. • This is the most realistic iPhone 8 concept so far

It's January 2017, which means that only nine short months remain until Apple unveils its 10th iPhone. Of course, that means nine more months of rampant speculation and rumors. But for once, I'm glad that we've started early, because I think this iPhone 8 concept is right on the money. Two things stand out from this render : the design language, which is a neat tribute to the entire historical line of iPhones, and the lack of a home button. The design is a glass sandwich with virtually no bezel, no home button, and rounded edges. It's the perfect shoutout to all the phones that came before it: the smooth, rounded edges of the original iPhones, with the iconic and easy-to-smash glass back of the iPhone 4 and 4S. There's still elements of the modern phones, thanks to the larger size introduced with the iPhone 6, side-mounted power button and yes, no headphone jack. Up front, the edge-to-edge display and lack of home button fit in perfectly with rumors we've already heard about the iPhone 8. Much more importantly, they look fantastic. Apple isn't going to mess about with the 10th-anniversary iPhone, and a phone that looks this good would hit all the buttons Apple is trying to push. More importantly, it's all relatively possible given technology that's available today. Apple has already removed the physical button part of the home button in the iPhone 7, so all that remains is integrating a fingerprint sensor that can sit under a display. Hmm . Otherwise, the only big innovation here is getting an edge-to-edge display with minimal bezel. Samsung came close with last year's Galaxy S7 Edge, and if anyone can push component suppliers to the limit, it's Apple . The rest of the rumored tech specs can all be taken with a grain of salt at this point. I'm sure Apple would love to kill the camera bump and include optical image stabilization, if at all possible, and new finishes and colors are always a possibility for the company. But the most important thing about the iPhone 8 is going to be a totally new design, and if this concept is close to the final design, it's going to be a good year for Apple. H/T Thomas!
